Dar Aalaei to Purple Belt!

By day Dar is an entrepreneur who founded ServiceNinja. By night (and some morning and early afternoon classes), Dar is a Jiu Jitsu stud rising up to meet every challenge on the mat.  Distinguishing oneself at the very top of the pack on the mat as stacked with talent as Heroes is no easy feat, but Dar has proven his abilities again and again and thus has been awarded the coveted Faxia Roxa (Purple Belt!)

Congratulations to Dar!

Dar is moving up to the big city San Francisco so his appearances on the mat will be a bit less frequent, but he will still always be home at Heroes!

Gary Valencia gets his Blue!

Every time Gary gets on the mat, you get a sense of his boundless enthusiasm for Jiu Jitsu.  Picking up the relatively recent nickname “Cookie Monster”, Gary is full of energy and constantly eager to learn.  Already possessing tremendous instincts and timing, Gary has worked hard to refine the technical aspects of his game and is constantly evolving.

In recognition of his effort and abilities Gary Valencia has been awarded the blue belt!  Congrats to the Cookie Monster!
