November Schedule

To remind everyone, we will have the competition class this Saturday November 21st, and we will be hosting a UFC viewing party for students and friends Heroes Martial Arts.

There will be no class on Thanksgiving Day, nor will there be class the following Friday, November 27.  Class will be on regular schedule on Saturday, November 28.

Next month new Saturday hours take effect (Saturday Judo class added!) as well Women Class will start on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 PM

IMPORTANT!!! No Class Friday Oct. 23

The Academy will be closed for renovations on Friday, October 23rd.  We will be installing the new wall mats and post coverings, and resetting the main mat!

Congrats to Bobby Vasquez: Blue Belt!!

What can we say about Bobby?  As most of us at Heroes have already discovered, he’s an absolute beast on the mat.  A dangerous combination of technique, agility and raw strength Bobby is frequently paired against the big boys in class (of which we have many) despite the fact he’s actually under 200 pounds (which he’ll also happily remind you of   He’s got the skills to go with it, and is just as likely to beat you his finesse.  Bobby is a carry over from the “secret warehouse” days, and has actually been training with Gumby prior to the opening of Heroes.

Congratulations Bobby!  We’re proud of you and happy you’re representing Heroes!

Regular Class on Saturday, Oct 17. No Competition Class…

Because of the US Open of BJJ in Santa Cruz on Oct, 17, we will have a modified schedule on Saturday.  There will be no competition class.

The regular BJJ class will be held as always on Saturday from 10AM to 12PM and will be run by David “Canada” McLeod”.

Gumby will be coaching at the US Open at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium.  If you’re not going to class, please come out and support the team!

Also note that because of Sim Go / Typhoon Relief Seminar there will be no Competition class on Saturday, October 24 either.
